91 pts Jeb Dunnuck v.23
The 2023 Cabernet Franc takes its inspiration from the Loire, not from Bordeaux, coaxing herbal and black olive character from high-elevation grapes, sourcing from various sites at varying locations. Dusty, chalky tannins wrap around rich black cherry, cocoa powder, and tart acidity, remaining fresh and complex. Drink now through 2030.
93 pts James Suckling v.22
A light- to medium-bodied wine that packs a punch in terms of a lively texture and tight, concentrated fruit flavors. So fresh, linear and alive, with tart cherry, cranberry, blackcurrant and smoky herb accents. It’s well balanced, palate cleansing and energetic. Drink now or hold. — Jim Gordon
92 pts Wine Enthusiast v.21
There's an absolute deliciousness factor to this wine. Immediate aromas of voluptuous boysenberry, black cherry, black currant and capsicum entice the senses. The palate offers a firm tannic texture, adding structural integrity and a backbone for those ripe red and black fruits. Flavors confirm the nose and add a sprinkle of black pepper and a touch of wood, all leading toward a meaty-umami finish. — Stacy Briscoe
92 pts Wine Enthusiast v.20
Whilst enjoyable now, this varietal Cabernet Franc will only get better with time. Currently, barrel aromas and lead with notes of fresh cedar, vanilla, star anise and cinnamon stick and chocolate over-riding beautiful fruits and florals of boysenberry, blackberry, fig and violets. Tannins are still a bit tightly wound but the potential of this wine to age with elegance and grace is obvious. — Stacy Briscoe
